  1. You type it. Open notatext.com/create on your phone. Type what you want to say, exactly how you’d say it. Pick a handwriting style, a paper and an envelope. The price updates as you write, so there are no surprises at the end.
  2. A real pen writes it. Our custom machine holds a real ballpoint pen and writes your letter stroke by stroke on real paper. Every curve, every pen lift, every slightly uneven line is there because that’s how a hand moves. The preview you approve on screen is the exact path the pen follows.
  3. We seal, stamp and mail it. Your letter is folded, slid into the envelope you chose, addressed to her on the front with your return address on the back, stamped with a real stamp and dropped at USPS in Abilene, Texas. Written and mailed within two business days.
Fresh pen handwriting on paper

Why a machine with a pen beats printing

Printed “handwriting fonts” look fine on screen and dead on paper: every letter identical, no pressure, no ink pooling where the pen slowed. A pen leaves a groove. Hold one of our letters up to the light and you can see the strokes. Run a thumb across it and you can feel them. That is the difference between a card and a keepsake.

What you choose

  • Handwriting: 57 styles across print, cursive and mixed. Size and neatness are yours to set. See them all.

  • Pictures: add a photo or a drawing and the pen traces it in outline.

Questions

Is it printed to look like handwriting?

No. A writing machine holds a real ballpoint pen and moves it the way a hand does, stroke by stroke. The ink sits in the paper and you can feel it with your thumb. Nothing is printed and nothing is a font.

Whose handwriting is it?

One of 57 real hands we recorded, from neat print to loose cursive. You pick the one closest to yours or the one you wish you had.

Do you read my letter?

One person checks every letter before it is sealed, only to make sure the pen did its job. Your letter is never used as an example and never shown to anyone else.

How long until she has it?

Letters are written and mailed within two business days. USPS First-Class usually takes another two to five days anywhere in the United States.

Can I mail it to myself first?

Yes. Put your own address as the recipient. Plenty of people order one to see it before sending the real one.
